The number of fires that this summer's fire fighting team has responded to has been few, largely due to the abundance of rain we have received throughout the months of June and July. The team did respond to a fire in Houghton, Michigan in mid-June. Their days are kept busy making sure the planes are in top working order, as they take the planes up every other day. Giving visitors a tour and answering questions about the water bombers also fills the pilots' and mechanics' days. |
